On 7 February 2025, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT) issued Instruction No. 015/25 on Special Protection for Pregnant Employees (the “Instruction”). The Instruction aims to improve working conditions for pregnant employees during and after pregnancy in accordance with the Labour Law.
On 18 November 2024, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (“MME”) issued the “Updated Principles for Permitting the Use of Rooftop Solar” under Prakas No. 0312 (“2024 Principles”) replacing the “Principles for Permitting the Use of Rooftop Solar Power in Cambodia” issued by the MME in Prakas No. 0159 on 25 April 2023 (“2023 Principles”).
Cambodia’s liquid waste management, especially in Phnom Penh, has been overlooked and neglected for decades. Such mismanagement resulted in serious negative impacts on the country. The most pressing challenge is related to the country’s drainage systems, wastewater treatment, and overall waste management.
On 26 December 2024, the National Bank of Cambodia (“NBC”) issued a Prakas on Transactions Related to Cryptoassets (the “Prakas”), becoming effective immediately and representing a step toward greater regulatory certainty on cryptoassets transactions with respect to the banking sector in Cambodia. Before the Prakas, the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia issued Guideline No.001/22 on Fintech Regulation Sandbox in Securities Sector.
